Another Total War game is coming. Shortly after announcing Total War: Medieval III, Creative Assembly revealed that Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is also in the works. And this one already has a Steam page.
Teased during the Game Awards 2025, the latest entry in the grand strategy series is promising grimdark warfare on a galactic scale. There’s no release date yet but we did get a trailer that shows actual gameplay and everything at least looks very pretty:
And here’s the description:
Total War’s award-winning fusion of turn-based strategy and colossal real-time battles descends into the grim, science-fantasy universe of Warhammer 40,000.
In the Era Indomitus, the galaxy is aflame with endless war, and every soul’s survival hangs by a thread. Take command of iconic factions, customise your war machine, and engage in devastating battles as you carve a bloody warpath across the stars.
There is no time for peace. No respite. No forgiveness. There is only war.
Total War: Warhammer 40,000 will feature Space Marines, Orks, Aeldari, and Astra Militarum for factions. Channeling the source material’s tabletop miniature origins, players will also get to customize their own sub-factions with unique banners, emblems, philosophies, tactical abilities, signature traits, and arcane wargear. Strategy will revolve around capturing planets, upgrading fleets, and managing your war economy on the fly. If things get really bad you’ll be able to nuke entire planets.
If all goes well, it’ll be like the sprawling battles of Space Marine 2 magnified across the entire galaxy. We’ll see.
