WhatsApp is currently working on adding a voice chat mode for the Meta AI chatbot that resides within the messaging app in some markets.
In a future update to WhatsApp, this will be enabled and you’ll even be able to choose a voice for the AI chatbot. Obviously, being able to use your voice to interact with Meta AI will make such interactions a lot simpler than when you have to text.
The option to choose the Meta AI’s voice is available in the 2.24.17.16 update for WhatsApp beta for Android, which you can get a hold of if you have an Android device (of course) and you enroll it into the beta through the Play Store – that said, note that enrollment is not open at all times.
When this feature lands in WhatsApp for Android for everyone, it will allow you to pick from ten voices for Meta AI. The voices aren’t named but each of them has a differently colored circle to represent it, as you can see from the screenshot above.
Since all we have for now is a screenshot, we can’t tell you what the differences between the voices will be, but we assume you’ll get a variety of accents and tones.
