vivo is working on the V70, the successor to the V60 launched back in August. This series refreshes twice a year, with the V50 having arrived in February, so it’s unsurprising to see the V70 already getting certified for sale in India by BIS.
As is customary, this certification doesn’t reveal any specs for the phone, which will have the model number V2538. It does however confirm that the phone is headed to the all-important Indian market.
Along with the V70, another device was also certified by BIS, this one having the model number V2545. This is likely to be the upcoming T5x, the successor to the T4x that came in March.
The vivo V70 is going to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. It will run Android 16 with OriginOS 6 on top. It’s expected to be a rebranded S50, which is getting official in China next week.
If this pans out, then the V70 will also have an OLED screen with “1.5K” resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, triple rear cameras (50MP main, 50MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, 50MP ultrawide), a 50MP selfie camera, and a 6,500 mAh battery with 90W wired charging. An IP69 dust and water resistance rating will likely also be present.
