Samsung just won Black Friday with this deal: get a Galaxy S25 Ultra for just $850 without a trade

I think Samsung may have won Black Friday – well, if you’re looking for a high-end phone, that is. Right now, you can get an incredible discount on an unlocked Galaxy S25 Ultra thanks to a massive Black Friday sale at the official retailer.

The deal in question is a free storage upgrade, and the choice between a trade-in rebate of up to $700 or a $440 upfront discount. Personally, I can give or take the trade-in rebate since it’s not the biggest I’ve seen at Samsung (that’s $1,000), but the upfront discount is outstanding here.

You’re essentially getting a 512GB Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra for just over $850, which in itself is only $50 more expensive than the standard iPhone 17. Die-hard Apple fans will likely baulk at the prospect of a Samsung device, but for an Android user like myself, I can’t think of a better deal on a higher-end phone today.

$850 is of course still a hefty sum to pay for any phone, but you’re definitely getting good bang for your buck here in context. Not only is the Galaxy S25 Ultra one of the most outwardly premium devices on the market currently, but the combination of a powerful chipset and excellent cameras easily makes it one of our favorites at TechRadar.

We’re seeing plenty of excellent Black Friday phone deals right now, but this one is probably my favorite unlocked deal so far. It beats a lot of other choices right now, solely because you don’t need to trade in or sign up for a super-expensive long-term plan to be eligible. You can simply get a cheap(er) Galaxy S25 Ultra and port it over to the carrier of your choice.
