Nothing is entering the open-ear earbud market in just a few hours, with the unveiling of the Nothing Ear (Open), scheduled for September 24 at 14:00 UK time (15:00 CET, 9 AM in New York, 6 AM in California, and 18:30 in India).
And now, ahead of the official announcement, the Ear (Open) have been leaked as you can see from the images below. The earbuds have a semi-transparent design which is Nothing’s trademark of course.
Each bud has a 14.2 mm driver made of titanium-coated polyethylene terephthalate. Each has a 64 mAh battery, and there’s a 635 mAh battery in the case. The earbuds will offer eight hours of battery life, and if you add in the case that goes up to 30 hours. For calls, the numbers are six hours and 24 hours, respectively.
The earbuds support Bluetooth 5.3 and dual connection, and are IP54 certified for dust and splash resistance. They have AI-powered Clear Voice tech for calls, an ultra-low latency mode, and ChatGPT support as long as you have a Nothing smartphone.
The Ear (Open) don’t feature any active noise cancelation, and apparently they will only be offered in white, at least initially. Pricing hasn’t been leaked.
